PARTNERS IN THE GOSPEL
Partners in the Gospel is a ministry initiative of JLF that uses practical and engaging tools like fishing trips and cookouts to build relationships in under-resourced neighborhoods, share the gospel, and model healthy Christian community. Partners in the Gospel primarily works with youth in the historic Farish District in Jackson.
PARTNERS IN THE GOSPEL’S SERVICES INCLUDE:
One-on-One Discipleship
We mentor youth in the historic Farish District neighborhood in Jackson. Still a young ministry, we do not have a set mentoring time yet. As residents of the neighborhood, Partners in the Gospel’s leaders, Willie and Alex McClain, use event nights, excursions, and daily activities as discipleship opportunities with the youth they serve.
Event Nights
Partners in the Gospel hosts various events throughout the week for the youth served. One example of this is a weekly “movie night” where neighborhood youth are gathered for dinner and to watch and discuss an episode of “The Chosen”.
Excursions
“We take regular getaway excursions as an opportunity for discipleship and investment in the youth and families we serve. Many of our youth have not been out of Jackson. Excursions like camping trips give them a chance to expand their worldview and understand more about who they are created to be.” -Willie, Ministry Director
